I'm trying to come up with a place to rest my left foot while driving my buggy.
If my foot is not on the clutch, I find that I have to keep my foot flat on the pan for stability. When off-roading this is problem because my knee gets banged up hitting the side of the buggy.

Not to mention, having a good place to brace yourself with the left foot off-road is good to have.

They sell dead pedals for Jeeps online, but they look way too big. I was thinking of putting in a motorcycle peg but don't really want to bolt one through the fiberglass.

Anyone here have anything like this, or ideas for a left foot rest? Last time I went to Ocotillo Wells, I had to wear a knee pad on my left leg for protection! Rolling Eyes

Even a small one, that you can just rest your heal up against will work. I've seen them made out of a 3/4" tube with a piece of stretched steel about 2"x4" welded to a flat piece the same size used. Bolted to the floor.

Not a buggy but it has a dead pedal. I don't do subtle, so my wife says.

I'm thinking about adding one to my buggy too.....I might just mount it to one of the body mount bolts to keep from drilling into the fiberglass.

I bolted one to the floor. It is just a scrap of 2x3 inch angle aluminum 1/8th inch thick. I cut a 6 inch long piece and bolted the 2 inch side to the floor facing away from me. It just catches my heel, but that is enough.

Just be careful that if you mount one up beside clutch pedal it does not stick out far enough to get in way using clutch...

I like the idea of just needing something to catch my heel. That might be enough. Also, using one of the body mount bolts may be best as I have square tubing for support under the outside pan edges that the body is bolted to.

If/when I come up with something, I'll post up pics. Kind of leaning toward a rubberized cycle peg mounted horizontally for the heel.

That shouldn't cause interference between my foot and the firewall mounted Hi-beam switch or clutch.
