i have a factory color book in my hand and
iceland green is darker than any of the puctures i have seen, but definately not as dark as the sample on the samba color charts.

i think as someone already stated (hoffman i think) every monitor will show a slightly different colour.
i had a glasuruit sample sprayed just from the vw code in base clear.it is a little darker than the one where we just matched the colour of the car and had it made in base clear

My painter used opaque instead of transparent,he said it covers better.This could factor into the different looks.Experienced restoration painter.

i've read your discussion about finding the right color.

even if you've found out the right color, maybe this helps in other situations:
(i often had this discussion with others about other colors, too)

i just google "vw Lxxx" (xxx for the code-number) and switch to images..
then a lot of cars in this color code under different light conditions appear.

i know, not a big hint and nothing really new, but it helped me very often, because its simple for finding the correct color.
