I'm wondering (before I take it out) if it's possible to install a new brake line (the one that goes from the junction in the rear to the passenger side) and have it look somewhat original without removing the body. I replaced all of the lines 16 years ago, but have yet to do this one.

You can install all the brake lines as factory without removing the body.

You can definitely do it, it helps a lot if you can get the old one off without bending it up.

That way you can use it as a template. There are two folding metal clips that hold it in place on each side of the tunnel, near the top.

Another tip for safety...and yes i learned the hard way. Disconnect the battery.

While feeding in the new line, I accidently bumped it just right and it came in contact with the damn starter terminals. Sparks and melted a damn hole in the line.

Yes, strange crap happens...just passing along so it doesn't happened to you

I love reading things like this when I come on here - it's the little stories like this which make you say "Oh man.. that sucks!" which you will remember when you go to do it on your own vehicle. Thanks txoval!

No problem, that's why we're on here. Probably couldn't do it again if I tried, but it happened.

Got it done. Was much easier than I thought it would be. Was a bit of a bitch getting to that clip. Brake line from WW 16 years ago turned out to be about an inch short, so it is not back in the clip. Other than that it turned out pretty well.
