Was wondering if anyone knew what the correct wheel color and paint scheme (inner and outer) is correct for a 62 Beetle?

Look in Technical / Paint Upholstery for a list of all the colors (including wheels) for your year. (Nice car, by the way).

The "Wheel Disc" in the center section.
The "Rim" is the outer portion.

The entire wheel was originally painted Black and then the faces were painted the 2-tone colors.
So the backside will still be Black.

From the charts:
If the car above is the 1962 color Gulf Blue then:
Wheel Disc = L 393 king's blue
Rim = L 392 misty grey

Who did you ask? You will need to find a good automotive and industrial finishes outfit.

Unless someone on here can give you better help, I located Industrial Finishes in Viginia. They have most of their stores on the west coast. Their Portland store mixed me both anthracite and silver beige from codes they had; they had old books with the swatches and codes, dating back to the early 60's.

You probably have a similar company that can do the same. If not, you could try contacting that VA Industrial Finishes distributor, and see if they can help.

You could also try the paint store that mixed up my paint to ask them. They are the one located on Mcloughlin Blvd.

You can also try TCP Global.

And, ALWAYS research this site fully... Your answer may be here, but no one is going to dig for you, usually.

To help find paint, Glasurit made The original paint for VW, and have most og The old codes available.

If there is a Kemperle near you, they will match the original color code if you can give them the formula.

How does one mask off either the inner or outer to get such a perfect line? Is there a 'dome' of sorts that is dropped over the wheel to protect the inner (thereby necessitating that it be painted first)?
