So I had MOFOCO build me a longblock. I plan to keep my present engine as a running spare. (Actually I have another VW it could go into.) So I have everything to build another complete engine except for distributor and coil.
Coil, not a problem, but what distributor should I get/use? Don't want to use the 009.
Specs:
1904
100 cam
Mofoco 042 heads
Dual Weber 40's _________________ Everything known to man has been written.

SVDA from ACN is a good one (but some do not like them with Webers)
CB Magnaspark II has been flawless for me. _________________ 1965 Beetle

What does Roy recommend?
I had a 205 zb Mexican with dual 44hpmx carbs and it was pretty smooth _________________ Wash your hands

Forgot to mention this is in a Squareback, so MagnasparkII is out. (From CB site: NOTE: Magnaspark II & Magnaspark Digital will not fit T-3 or T-4 without modification to engine tin.)
And with Webers, where would I get the SV for the DA?

Well, duh! I guess it makes sense to ask him, huh?
Thanks for the tips. _________________ Everything known to man has been written.

So Glenn, what is that thing directly above your distributor; CDI?
Does anyone know exactly what modification must be made to the engine tin to run the MS II in a T3? _________________ Everything known to man has been written.

I'd suggest the Pertronix SVDA and Flamethrower coil from Aircooled.net. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

I sure wouldnt. Junk straight out of the box and has to be modified to work. I really don't know why he sells these. plus the damn can is on the wrong side for a type 3 right? I'd get a cast 010 from Glen, it will work forever and fits _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

It's a Berg CDI system. I've since gone back to a Bosch (German) Blue coil. _________________ Glenn
