It drives me nuts it only says US equipment. One of the few M codes that doesn't actually say what equipment it is |

M 358 is supposedly the US spec equipment.. over rider bumpers, sealed beam headlamps, taillights, MPH Speedo. I think that's all of the items in the package... _________________ 1966 Beetle - Our Build thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=611939 |

Great Job, loved your thread. Just wondering how has your rubber lasted. I was reading horror stories about Jbugs rubber as it was not lasting? Being in AZ. myself I have been concerned. Seems the majority of people prefer the rubber from West Coast Metric. |

Thanks fak!
So far everything is holding up great.
When we ordered the kit from jbugs, we requested German seals, so many of the pieces actually had West Coast Metric tags as well as Wolfsburg West tags on them. Jbugs seams to package the kit from various suppliers to get the best bang for your buck. But everything we received fit great. Only compliant that I have is the front windshield seal had a noticeable area where the seal was glued together. But with some fine sandpaper we were able to clean it up..
Hope to see you around the valley, do you have a project? _________________ 1966 Beetle - Our Build thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=611939 |

Thanks for the reply was very helpful. Do you have any suggestions as to where to start. I was looking at maybe getting the video from Jbugs. I have the complete doors to do as well as all the windows as well.
Just bought a 1966 bug that was repainted the original color Sea Sand, and needs to be put back together. Figured it would take me about 6-8 months as I will be working on it part time during the summer months. |

I'm not trying to piss on your parade but I felt it necessary to bring this over from the suspensions thread.

Not that I advocate removing ANY of the leafs from the pack but you REALLY shouldn't remove them from the top spring pack.
The lower trailing arms are now the ones that are doing most of the work & those are the ones where the ball joints are trying to pull apart instead of compressing together like the upper ones.
Please consider reinstalling the missing leaves & install adjusters to dial in your ride height. |
