Has anyone used an aluminum beam in a street buggy without any problems? I want to use VW steering box but there is no index tab to keep it from rotating.

One of many threads in the Off Road forum on the topic. More of an offroad rail thing to save weight. Most folks with buggies move weight up front in an effort to increase it.

Ive seen a few over the years. they should be supported properly like in a rail frame for street use but there are clamps to bolt them to a stock frame head. i have a set.
