I'd like to share some pictures of a neat airbrush project I did. Inspired by some friends' joking requests to see if I would airbrush a mailbox to look like a custom split bus. The dang thing took ten hours to do and I probably used up $75 worth of paint.

That would be sure to atract a baseball bat in my area.
Kids cruise the country roads with a ball bat, and swing at mail boxes.
I hav elost 2 this year, and mine are just plain mail boxes.

Some ¼" plate steel will cure them of ever hitting your mailbox again.

yeah, same here...that looks too good to put up, better keep it inside.
Smile
The only thing that would make it even cooler is if you could somehow make the bus rear facing outward, and make the back hatch open up to put the mail in.

1/8" will do it, on the inside, so it doesn't show.
Then go to the Dr. office and look for the teenager with the broken hand.

I'd pay $75 for that in a heartbeat.

Looks great! Awesome job with the paint and design.

To guard against vandalism with bats, bookend the box with sacrificial mailboxes filled with concrete. This is what I've seen done several times, and it makes a driveby baseball bat attack nearly impossible. You don't even want someone to touch that box in fear of messing up your beautiful paint job.
