Hi,
Here is my rear apron, it has been hacked to fit later muffler style
first job is to build the patch and weld it, the rear apron will be period correct this way
Do I'd have an other part welded inside to reinforce the apron as on the later style ? I can't see any old weld point or mark ....Could somebody confirm that ?
thank you
yan

You don't need any inner reinforcement panel for this type of apron.

Hi,
I'm working on the paint code,
I'll need some L35 metallic blue to repaint the arch wheels and rear apron, I need a old style paint , none "new water" paint, where I could find it ?
I'll need also some red to make some touch up on the wheels and repaint the hubcaps clips, I was thinking the paint code was ruby red L456 but I'm not sure about this ...could somebody confirm it ?
thank you
yan

Hi,
Here the chassis now ready to paint, only under and on the nose.
before and after cleaning job !
I'm surprised how clean are the floors, don't need any paint job inside !
I'll let it in his original paint
look at the original factory untouched white mark, what do it means ?

Hi palmgreen57 it is impressive how untouched this floor pan is , so glad you'll keep it original .
The white lettering on the floor "11C" means "sedan de luxe" that's what my birth certificate says for my June 1953 oval though I don't know what "I.O" means but I would love to know myself.
Since this floor is so original would you please post some close up pics of the floor rubber mats especially the buttons from up and underside of the mat and the buttons on the floor ?
Keep up the good work ! _________________ http://www.komenda-porsche-designer.at/

Hi Sotos,
Yes, my goal is to keep as much as I can the beetle in his original condition
I'll work all the week end on my old girl and will shoot what you've asked for
We'd sand blasted the chassis ( under face + nose ) the body arches wheels and inner the 4 fenders, then primer it in the grey paint NOS style
More news soon |

The body is in near perfect condition, 99,9% rust free
I've never seen a body so solid ! 64 years old soon
we still can see the factory welding points and cordons
