Does anyone know if removing old bearings and gears off the main drive shaft and drive pinion can be done just with heat?
I know it can easily be pressed off just wondering if heating does any damage to these rare parts?
Thanks,
Mark

No, they will still need to be pressed off.

Heating them up could change the heat treating of the parts, I would only advise it if a press couldn't do the job for you.
