hi all, could use a bit of a hand. i'm replacing the outer rocker panel on my thing and want to be sure i put the b-pillar back in the correct location/angle. would any of you be so kind as to give me a measurement across the top of your thing from the lip on one middle door pillar to the other so i'm sure to weld it in the correct spot?
i am kicking myself a bit for not tacking a piece across there before starting the cutting, but i didn't realize how much rigidity i would lose.

thanks!

Mine look like 27 9/16", just above the door catch hardware.

Look in the photo gallery (Thing/181) page 124 for measurements.

I would install the doors before welding starting with the front then try to get an even gap all the way around. These door gaps will vary 1/8 to 3/16 in. from car to car. It's not what the factory spec. say but have even gaps.

Yep, that's what I did. Put the doors back on to make sure they latched ok and the gap looked uniform.

i never removed the b-pillar from the inner rocker, so it should still be in the correct location front to back. just needed the left-to-right measurement so the side didn't look bowed in or bowed out. i imagine i could just do it with a straightedge from a-pillar to c-pillar but wanted to be certain.
