I will start a thread on this van and post pictures along the way. I really enjoyed reading other build/repair threads and they have answered many questions and raised many other questions. Awesome to have a community to share common interests and goals! Temp outside is -20C this week in northern canada and the van is sitting outside uncovered right now. I'm eager to start stripping it....but things don't go well in the cold. Have to make room in the stable first.

Add mine. Bought February 3rd, 2018 near Roanoke, VA. Was in the woods for 40 years without wheels nor engine on rotten tree stump blocks. Used to “get out of the rain” when hunting. Seller’s uncle Purchased from “hippies.” off the road since June ‘77. Missing: roof rack, chandelier, spare tire table base, spare tire nut, cargo door cabinet, washbowl, mirror, emka cups, front curtain, tent/awning/poles/stakes, tool kit, jack, manual, folding chair, folding chair bracket and wing nut, water jugs, & stove. my ice tray is cracked, closet and lower driver’s side cabinet have holes for speaker, has an old rear speaker wired up, curtains are shredded from sun and mice. i’ve been vacuuming and bleaching the interior.
September 8, 1961. interior is an orange plaid flipseat with white cabinet faces, picked up in Germany, m codes: 56, 139, 156, 367 including 20, 24-no backup lights, 90, 142-no sliding door, 168, 175, 181, 192, 199, plus gas heater. vin plate says so23 like Clara’s-thx Clara. my first split camper!
I can’t find the “levers” for the flip seat...would like to get under it...

Looks good! Is that a bug or bus speedo? ... Any of the HTF parts? If you need cupboard handles I noticed that Greg is down to his last set... |

Bug speedo.
Gregs would work but a '62 would have brass latches. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

From the limited photos I cannot see where the brass latches and their catches would have been mounted _________________ Brandon |

Do a search of the Gallery for "SO-34 cabinet", you will get lots of results.
Here is a close up of such:
Still might just be the cabinets you now have, did not originally come with your bus. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
