So I was cleaning out my garage and found a set of brand new MK1 fenders for a 1980 rabbit and I'm just wondering how much I could sell them for? I had a guy offer me $150 (CAD) for them but I don't know if I'm selling to cheap or not! I bought them off the original owner when I purchased my rabbit a few years back and they are literally brand new unpainted.
Thanks,

A few years back - more than 10, less than 20, I'd guess, Kholweiss (sp?) VW went out of business on the San Francisco Peninsula and held an auction I attended. There were more brand new Rabbit fenders (of that era) there than you could shake a stick at - I'd say maybe 100 pairs - along with front grilles and other completion parts. They sold for on the order of $5 each, though I don't recall the exact price. I know the guy who bought them - Jim Patterson, founder of House of Ghia (not HoG's current owner) - and he later lamented he paid too much. I always found that amazing, but it was true; they had nearly zero value at the time. It's entirely possible that the current HoG owner, Mike, still has some, but then, when Jim died, there was a big move and perhaps they got left behind, I don't know...
I'd imagine that a significant number of these fenders are still around NOS, and they've likely not gone up too much in value, but I don't really know.
