Does anyone have a list of chassis colors through the early years and when they changed, prior to black being the standard?

Here's a green 46 pan from the gallery. Sounds like they were also tan at some point earlier

Was the color only on the inside? What about suspension, etc.?

Our '46 (1-063289) certainly had a green floor pan, the colour was found on the conduits in the backbone. Rightly or wrongly I have had the suspension etc. painted black. The petrol tank also displayed a green colour when stripped so has been painted the same as the pan.

The body is / was black by the way.

I saw a picture in this forum of a bunch of early splits on a rail car. Someone was saying something about the year of the cars based on the chassis colors, they were mid 40's cars (44 or 45). I was hoping that person would see this post. It would be great to know what years would be tan, grey, green, or black.
