I bought a 75 Scirocco last summer, It's currently in primer. I have receipts from the owner for all the primer and misc (don't remember exactly types). It's stored inside 24/7 and heated when I'm there, should I strip it back down to bare metal or trust ALL the work was done correctly? |

Strip it. Primer is porous. It absorbs all sorts of things.
By the way....first generation sirrocos are beautiful cars. Simple, well balanced.....a few ssupension tuning parts....and build the basic engine to maybe an 83 GTI spec with a twin port downpipe manifold.....still a few out there. I may even have one laying around......and that would be a joy to drive. Take your time and do it right. So few around. Ray |
