On my 71 type 3 my fuel injection harness at the engine has 2 injector connectors on either side of the engine; 1 has a brown protective boot the other a black protective boot on the connector; which color connector goes to which cylinder? Great site. Thanks |

Well I just went out and looked at mine and I don't have injector boots on the drivers side but on the passenger side the front injector boot is black and the back injector boot is brown. Back meaning towards the tail pipe. I guess I better go out to my spare harness and get the boots and put them on the injectors. According to Bently connect the cable with the gray boot to the injector farthest to the rear in the car. I wonder if they used black and gray in some models and black and brown in other models.

The "brown" boot was gray originally. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

If you can still read the tiny numbers on the wires near the connector then that is your best indicator. The Bentley shows which wire goes to which injector. You never know if those boots have been swapped around in the past. |
