Help request for '58 Vert color combos

Hello all you Knowlegable Samba Users!

I have a '58 LHD Type 1 Convertible, Chasis #2164020, which I believe translates to a 151 Model number, that is being restored to original condition. I am trying to find the original paint and interior colors. Unfortunately, my Vert's chasis number/model# combination is not listed on Samba. The 'Vert was most recently the Shetland Grey/Red combo listed on Samba, but I'm not sure that was the original color combinations. I want to be thorough for my restoration. Does anyone have suggestions for what the original colors were?

Hi there,

Easiest way to find out the original colour would be to obtain a "birth Certificate". For some reason i cannot cut and paste today so if you go into the forums and search "birth certificate" then there is a thread titled "birth certificate? from VW museum". Have a look through this and it tells you how to obtain one.
