Somewhat "over the top" for my tastes, but I appreciate the craftsmanship. It's very nicely "over done". Maybe if it was a more subtle color,,,, _________________ Everything known to man has been written.

I'd be a little concerned bidding on that. Look at this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4551316029
Same car, reserve not met at $2650. Buyer no longer registered. Current seller has just a slight variation of the name, so I'm sure it's the same guy. But look at the current bidders. Ratings are "Private", "0" and "1". Looks to me like someone is trying run up an item. I saw the car when it was in HVW's and was pissed, because someone took part of my idea before I could bring it to pass. That's something like I want, except mine will have an "unlowering" job to it, along with a 3" body lift kit, a full rollcage, etc. I've got a good donor '73 Square and the lift kit now. Need to get an engine togeher and a few more ducks in the row before I start shooting :2gunfire: _________________

i remember when that car was featured in hot vws way back in the day and thought it was cool. although i wonder how many people it takes to lift the roof off that sucker and put it back on with out chiping the paint. _________________ aircooled for life (1972 squareback cal look) |

Outside of the 80's treatment (shaved chrome, purple paint etc) I think it's a pretty cool ride and concept. If $$, time and space were no concern...why not? But then reality rears it's ugly head _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...

Thanks russ-
but --
I already have a squareback that is missing a roof
I have seen this car in person and the body work is well lets say "ok", as for the motor....if you dont mind oil drippers...than it for you.
But that was at 8 years ago since i have seen it and it could be better now.
It take 4 people to lift off the roof from the car..there are detachable handles that go into the roof. _________________ Martin Magnia
