Hey all,
A friend of mine just bought an original paint '71 Squareback. I want to help him to bring back the shine on this solid o.g. paint car, but not sure which buffing wheel and compound I should use. I don't want to burn through the paint but I want to maximize the results, so should I start with a wool wheel and compound or just use a foam wheel and swirl remover?

500-600 foam pad on a buffer at 1500rpm. I like 3M products so their Blue microabrasive compound is what I'd recommend.

Ditto for me on the 3m. Nice and easy on the pressure and stay away from the edges.

My buddy came by last night and i did one side of his hood to show him how to do it. Man, that o.g. paint just came back to life like nobody's business. We need to clean up a few bad chips (got a tad rusty) a dent in the door and fender other than that the paint is in beautiful shape. Car must have been garage kept for most it's life. I'll try to post some pix when its done.
