here are some pics from our newly founded vw group. there isn't many of us but we all bring something different to the table. we range from 20-60 in age and each have a completely different type of vw! we have a super, a bus, a MEXICAN!!!, a rail, a buggy, a gti, a corrado (not in pic), a standard, and a type 3 fastback!
we put an empi exhaust on the t3 and a homemade cold air intake from old boost tubes from my corrado. we clocked it at 93 mph on 2 different occations! not bad! that exhaust made a huge difference!!!

Enjoy...the more opinions, tastes the better. My club is mostly bugs (obviously), but we got 1 Ghia, numerous T3s (Notches & SBs mostly, no Fastys yet) and numerous T2s. Member's ages range from early 20's to late 40's. We got trailer queens, daily drivers and projects. I've made good friends via the club which for me was important since I relocated to the wet PNW... _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...

I am getting to know the guys on our local club.
When I met one of them, he looked familiar. I asked him if I knew him.
"Yeah I am Dave H. I used to hang out in your garage and watch you as a kid."
Here is his ride.

I asked him about that. He said it was that way when he got it. And it looks factory.
The bus had very little rust when he got it. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

well, the type 3 is not well maintained! it's one hell of a project. too bad right now all we have are projects. it will be nice once we finish a few and have some cars to rep the club. we have one nice one but he's not involved with us so i've been thinking of removing him as a member. i would rather have a small group of close knit guys than a 40 member group that only 8 show up at. we boated it to germany and ran it on the autobahn! lol! the aircooled bug has bitten and i can't wait to finish the corrado. not to drive it, but so i can justify starting an aircooled project! _________________ Andy |

I had mine up to about 115 MPH with the Progressive, I've got it up to 90 something several times with the dual DCNFs with room to go. I have to fiddle around with the jets, too big. I'm kinda afraid to see how fast it will go now. _________________ "In order to create, you have to destroy." |

Don't know enough about T2's to know what factory was. I do know that it seems there was a plethora of options available and you could almost order whatever configuration you wanted. Little rust is a plus from what I've seen. My Westy was pretty rust free considering it's 40 years old...but some of the specimens I've seen are cancer ridden. _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...
