I just picked up a 64 NOTCH today (well paid today will bring home next week end). It is complete but completely apart. All it is missing is the motor (going to put a built type 4) and the sun roof slider. The rear end has been hit hard in the part but was fixed to most peoples standards. But the fact that I could tell it had been hit means it is not to my standards so I will cut off the repair work and re-finish it right.
Here are my questions!
1) Is the back half of type 3's the same from the trunk line down?
2) Is the sun roof deck the same on all type 3's

Ok here is where it needs help. The pass side rear quarter (of the uni-body?) has been hit and replaced. They did a crappy job on it and I am going to re-do it . What they did was just get the old metal straite to a piont then they cut off most of the damage and just welded the new panel over the old on and it was not done well. This kind of a repair should be seamless when done properly.
My question is are all fast and squares the same in this area ( the quarters below the trunk) ? What is the year split if any? What changes if any? Thanks for any help you may have.

I don't know the answer to your question. But I found these pix in the galleries and put them side by side. You will notice the squareback has fresh air ducts and the notch does not. So if there is enough sheetmetal there then, maybe the shape of the very lower section will be the same. As for the rear hatch and rear apron, the notch is totaly different.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Joe~ That does help abit. The area infront of the wheel well looks to be the same and that is one section I will be grafting do to some fiberglass patching it has where the wheel well meets the panel. The rear area is more inside under the engine deck and I saw a pic of that area on a Square today and it looked close going by memory. I will have mine home saturday and all panels are comming off so I can get a good look before it gets put at the back of the line in my shop projects.
