Oaky, you have a couple of options. First, the easiest is John Deere Blitz Black paint. Single step, very strong, and a satin finish. You can get this from a John Deere dealer, and it's about $60-$70 for everything.
Second option is to have a two part finish, which would be the black paint of your choice, covered in a flattened clear coat. Both options will give you good life of the paint, just be sure to get a quality brand of paint/clear/flattening agent if you are going that route. This can end up giving you a flat black look that is closer to the black primer look, that will last, which primer won't. _________________ "To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. If you want a nice clean flat black the clear w/ flattening agent is the way to go, only thing is you have to be good w/ the gun, you will have blotches if you buff spots (like runs you sand out). There is a color primer by Sherwin Williams that looks really nice & is easy to spray but is hard to keep clean. |
