With the items glen listed and and close ratio third and fourth, side cover, hand pack needle bearings, your close to $2850.00. Add 125.00 for welded gusset on your case.
This does not include a diff or labor. If your going swing axle with a lot of highway driving at cruising speeds I donot recommend using one. Either a new LSD unit or torque biason unit so add another $1700.- $2200.00.
Otherwise use a stock diff and find a old beef-a-diff with a poor mans posi set-up. Depending on your motor and if your bracket racing, hot street car or just low horsepower daily driver you need to consider stock axles to ones like I offer for 695.00 a pair.
Labor we get anywhere between 700- 1,000 to do one.
There is a lot of time to build one of these. It is like blueprinting an engine.
Also you need two core trans otherwise your tranny builder will have to charge you for the additional parts to make up fifth gear.
If your interested in discussing this further, contact me.
Hope that helps.

Why on GB's website, they show:

GOOD USED 3.875 R&P MODIFIED FOR 5 SPEED $1,195.00

R&P is obviously not included in their kit, but does the trans mechanic have to do some magic to 5th gear that would quadruple the price of a typical used R&P?

The pinion shaft needs to be extended. So if you buy theirs theirs you don't have to send yours and the delay needed to extend it.

Doesn't the $2000 kit include them extending it?

Berg kit is a bunch of parts to convert the four speed to the five speed. The kit includes lengthening your main shaft and pinion shaft.
From there you need almost two cores for all the other internal parts along with a new ratio third and fourth gear.
Also not included with the kit are the mount and shifter, diff, side plates
It adds up quick!
