i have the body off my pan and was wondering if anybody has built a cart to wheel the body around and do repairs on it?(i'm sure it has been done)
i am going to biuld one and i think the dimensions will be no problem to figure out i guess i'm just looking for ideas on how the finished product will look (any body have any pics of theirs?)
i am planning just a metal framed rectangle with mabey an "x" brace in it.
thanks for any help

this has been covered before within the past 2 months, but most just scratch build there own.
i don't think there is any firm plans as i've seen em built of 4x4's and from angle, from high tech to low tech..
alot is going to have to rest on what kind you want and where your going to be rolling it. _________________ Frank

If you just want a dolly to set the body on and push it around the garage then all you need are a couple of 2X4s and 4 $5.00 caster wheels from the hardware store. |

be sure to build door opening braces too while you're at it,preferably before you remove the body.just a straight bar with plates to mount it to a door hinge mount and the latch mount will ensure the body doesn't stretch. |

You'll only need those extra braces if the cars a Convertible and you plan on R&Ring the heater/strengthening sills. Sedan don't require them. Stretch? You mean flex. _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

yes, depends on the condition of rockers, but my friends oval had good rockers and was never able to get the doors to fit perfect again, which i would class as stretched.it's just a quick and simple safety measure for some peace of mind and i don't see a reason not to do it.just my opinion though. |
