Priced at 62,000 US dollars. Looks sweet, but it's a lot of hard earned! _________________ 1964 Standard

62k No offense but that is RIDICULOUS For that kinda moola I could be styling in German steel all right...a brand new Mercedes with all the modern bells/whistles. Makes me long for the days of 2k VW's being sold... _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...

Even if it is a real 23 window deluxe, its not a restoration! How could a custom bus be worth more than a high dollar restoration unless they put at least $10K into the engine/suspension?? Do you have a link to the ad or a description? |

Hmm.... If I had $62,000 I could buy:
a) a "customized" 23 window bus with new paint.
-------OR---------
b) an OG paint barnoor kombi panel, or truck...
PLUS
a one of a kind coachbuilt plumbers truck:
PLUS
a one of a kind double door camper with a dormobile top
PLUS
a sweet highroof
PLUS
maybe a nice original ragtop bug just to cruise around in,
and still have about 10k left over to invest in restoration parts and equipment...
hmmmm....choices choices... A FLEET of awsome VW's....or one relatively common passenger bus, without the original motor, etc... |

but, all of these would require rust fixing (except maybe the bug)
i would definately not spend 60+K on a restaured bus.... _________________ 1964 Turkis Flipseat |

I think I could put together a pretty decent set of rust repair equipment with the 10k I had leftover after buying all those cars
a huge compressor, a nice mig plus a spot welder, an assortment of pneumatic tools.... |
