I've got an NOS brown cap, rotor, and condensor that I'm trying to research. I've got a parts books but can't find an exact match to determine their applications. They were purchased as type 3 1500 parts but I'm specifically looking for parts for my 64 1500s which has a 1 year only distributor. I can't even sell these parts if I can't determine what they're for. Any help would be appreciated.
Cap made by Dowal part # 111 905 207
Rotor made by Dowal part # 111 905 225
Condensor made by Electrica part # 311 905 295
I've found part # 111 905 207C which, according to my reference book, would fit anything (type 1,2,3)from Aug 63 until Jul 67. The letter on the end confused me.
Similar with the rotor. I found part #113 905 225 (A,B) which have various applications, none of which suit me.

Here's the Dowal parts next to the correct Bosch parts. They look identicle except for the circled area on the cap.

Yes, I have several like the Dowal. Those are for T-1's and T-2's, but not the 1500S.
The one I have in this picture has a crack in it. That distributor also has a bent housing. It is out of Ron's '65 SB that got rear ended last summer. That is a hard hit on a T-3 to get into the distributor. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

My Bug parts book says:
111 905 207
Fits Distributor 3
Distributor 3 is 111 905 205 aka VE 4 BRS 383
36hp
Engine # 1-695 282 to 3 912 903
383 is the 25hp distributor though? This doesn't sounds right...
111 905 225
is the rotor for distributor 3
From Type 3 parts book:
311 905 295
is the condensor for
311 905 205 L
311 905 205 M

I hear ya but I always like having a spare of everything on my shelf. It took me this long to find 1 Bosch cap so I'd hate to get rid of a backup even though it's another brand. _________________ 71 Type 1302 Custom

And I don't have any good ones. The one I got with the distributor from CA is cracked. The other cap I have is the original off my Ghia. And it was soaked in mouse pee for almost 40 years. It is so porous, you can just about see through it. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Well, I scored today. My local foriegn car parts store did some calling around, and found distributor caps and rotors for me. Bosch has them on the shelf in their warehouse.
He used the numbers I got here, and they were still good numbers.
1 235 522 031 for the cap
1 234 322 082 for the rotor (04 006) is the newer number.
AND, he scored the Bosch number for the distributor.
0 231 150 001 is the Bosch number
This is cool, having a parts store that is willing to do a little digging for you.
And to top it all off, they are also a clutch and brake rebuilder, and can redo my brake shoes, and get me kits for the wheel cylinders. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
