i wanted to put pop outs in my late square 1972 and wondered if pop outs from earlier squares will fit? thanks _________________ aircooled for life (1972 squareback cal look) |

"B" pillers....you need these to add pop-outs to your 71 and later squareback..

An important thing to note in the picture is the little metal tab in the opening. This is a guide for the popout hinge. Some '71+ cars have the cut outs without the tabs since popouts weren't offered, but the tooling wasn't changed.
If you have the openings, it would be easier, of course, to put curved little tabs in. Otherwise your windows will rattle like mad and fall out. |

Sawzall or angle grinder. Torch is messy unless you really know what you are doing. |

well mine is a 72 so maybe it has these mounts already? i will forget about doing pop outs if i have to get out a saw to do anything on my vw _________________ aircooled for life (1972 squareback cal look) |

I have an almost complete Squareback popout conversion setup from a 67 that will allow popouts to be put into a 71 and later SB. Includes B pillars, glass, frames, and latches. All it lacks is the little plastic sleeves that fit over the hinges. PM me if interested. |
