who else is running 5 spokes out there, what size tires are you using and are you lowered or stock. I had 195/60 with portawalls on my lowered 67 sqbk, with minimal rubbing when cornering, then when I took the portawalls off, they started rubbing real bad up against the fender lip.
I currently have stock rims on my sqbk

but i'm not sure if this is the look I want.
I'd like to use the 5 spokes if i can get a good fit tire, but without the portawalls.

I know I can go with shorter axles to help with the rubbing, but I'm lazy and don't want to give myself extra work if I can avoid it.[/img]

I have 5 spokes on my Notch with 185/65's, lowered 1 in back, not sure how many in front (nothing extreme), no rubbing. I did have to convert to the short axles to get the 5 spokes to fit in the rear.

Gearhead: Did you have to remove the tranny to install the short axles or can you do with the tranny still in? I have heard 2 different opinions on this and about to do the same thing. Thanks for any info.....

It can be done with the tranny in the car, but if you are replacing both axles, It is probably easier to pull the tranny.
I have replaced bent axles many times with the tranny in the car.
