Good point.
I think it is RHD given the shape of the mirror arms - the right side one in the photo looks longer to me.
Unless that's the photo angle... |
This photo was taken in Gothenburg Sweden. The bus has LH cargo doors which I thought was a trademark of LHD Swedish buses even though the Swedish traffic pattern at the time was left hand traffic. There are many photos to be found of Swedish beetles of the same vintage that are LHD.
I was able to find this gallery pic of a barndoor deluxe in Sweden that is RHD and appears to have LH cargo doors. Perhaps neither bus is originally Swedish?

Are the mirror arms coming out of the bottom of the pillar brackets?
Could the arms/brackets be reversed to make them higher or lower? _________________

Yes, that is normal for this year of Barndoor.
Earlier ones came out of the top.
No on the reversal on the same side due to the shape of the arms, although maybe if you also swapped them side-to-side that would work? There might be an issue with the arm length or shape though since the passenger side is a different shape/size to make the mirror visible from the driver's seat.
They are are also notched to make the arm stay in the right place and that notch is only on one side of the bracket.
Normally Barndoor Deluxes only had one mirror too. _________________ How to Post Photos
