It's a bit on the high side. You MAY be a little too lean. Try to get a sniffer on it. Too lean will make rather quick work of your engine. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Well I had a feeling that it was running lean, I haven't had a sniffer on it yet, but the plugs are a nice grayish-brownish color. I always thought that the plug color test was an accurate way of determining proper fuel mixture. Or is this only for carburated engines? _________________ OGST

Before I pulled the FI engine in my 1970 Squareback, I would get about 32-33 MPG on the Freeway.

my FI in the 71 square is getting about 26 on the highway, but i can tell from the smells that i am running rich... so, 30 is probably possible. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

I get about 28-30 on mine as a daily driver. Ten miles of gravel, and 30 miles of open highway. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Not on a 1600cc stock engine. With 32 PDSIT's. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

I get around 27 out on the freeway. And I figure that may go up towards 3 after I do a couple of minor changes to my efi system. _________________ Tom

How much of an average is your 37mpg? If it is based ona single tank of gas or less it is pretty much meaningless, although it is high enough that it is likely you are lean.
Here is a chart I did of the mileage for my dual carbed 66 Squareback. I track it every tankfull.
Two things that really stick out. Temperature has a significant role in the mileage (at least with carbs...the FI might be better) as can be seen by the difference between the summer and winter months mileage.
The other thing is that there is a bunch of variation from tank to tank depending on where and how you drive, long trips vs. short, highway vs city, etc, etc. It is not uncommon to see 4-6 mpg difference from one tank to the next.
Make sure you have a few tank fulls run through the system with a variety of driving conditions before you jump to conclusions. _________________ Later,

well, i've been filling up the tank many times as i'm sure we all have, and on my FUEL INJECTED STOCK MOTOR i get 160 miles per tank maximum. it's really the pits, which is one of the reasons i'm planning to switch it over to dual 34 dell's with the help of my father.
and no you can't have my FI parts, sorry _________________ yup, i drive a porsche |

You should just fix the injection. Get a Bentley and check the resistance on the head temp sensor first. Then, adjust the mixture at the pressure sensor using a sniffer. Assuming that the basic settings are correct, it's probably just that simple. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
