On the auto trans there is an adjustment to the bands on top of the tranny. Two screws with lock nuts are on top. None of my books cover this adjustment. Any one here know what to do ?

I would say, that if it is not acting up, don't mess with it.
The adjustment is shown in the Bentley In the automatic section, page 22.

Local library doesen't have a type 3 Bentley. Need the torque & amount of back off (1/2 or 1/4 turn) for the adjustment screws. We've droped the pan & changed the filter. Not much in debris but it shows that the bands are wearing. I've done this before but don't have access to the books anymore. The tranny does benifit from it.
