Can you put the seats from other years of Beetles into a 1967 Beetle? Are the mounting mechanisms the same? What years am I limited to?

Your 67 uses a seat track system. So 1956-69 I believe are all the same. But 1968-69 seats have built-in head rests are are commonly referred to as hi-backs. If you want to retain the low-back style, stick with 1956-67 seats

Thanks! Actually I like the high backs if they will work with the existing track system. The body has already been customized quite a bit, so keeping it true to the the original year isn't a priority. Would the high backs work on a track system?

This weekend I spoke to a friend and was surprised to learn that his wife's old '71 VW is rusting in his side yard and headed for the junk yard this coming weekend! So I'll be adopting his high back seats into my '67 and Maybe a few other parts.

OK I'll take a look at it, thanks for the heads up! What's in there now are the seats of an '85 Camero and it's a very jury-rigged installation!
