Hey guys I am wondering how to bench test an automatic transmission that is NOT hooked up to an engine. I can't do pressure test it, so is there a way to test it prior to install or do I need to install it to test it?

I am looking at buying a used one thats why I ask

Thanks

Shawn

I don't think so. Maybe a visual inspection by the trans guy and a check of clearances on the bands.
