They sold out 20 years ago.

You're been a little harsh, its not bad. its awfull. Don't buy it avoid at all costs you will get instant rust unless you live in the desert, and even there it's a possibility. |

You're right Glenn. It was thirty years ago. _________________ "What a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away." Dobee, Dobee, Do |

Joe Vittone, founder of EMPI in Riverside, CA, sold the business to the Lee Eliminators Division of Filter Dynamics, Inc. in 1972.
The Original, Vittone-produced, EMPI stuff, with extremely few exceptions, was very high quality, and today commands a hefty price tag to collectors and "Old School" enthusiasts.
If it comes in an orange and blue package, and says "520 Roberta Street, Riverside, CA" it's probably worth some money. Some stuff is worth more than other stuff, an NOS Eliminator shifter or set of magnesium BRM wheels, or NOS GTV steering wheel, will most likely set off a bidding war.
I'm sure Richard Roth, Thornton Smith, and other EMPI gurus will add to this when they see it. _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

in the late 50's and 60's, Empi did a lot of business in being a dealer for other brands. It wasnt until the later 60's that empi started producing their *own* stuff. Browse the catalogs I have on-line and see.
As customizing bugs became more and more fashionable, it brought with it the tendancy to trade quality for lower price. Small businesses got bought by larger ones to save costs in distribution and sales. The original vision was lost in lieu of the bottom line. _________________ Sounding like a broken record as to why You should be measuring protein during harvest in order to better your agronomic practices. |
