My Dad saw this clean '63 over in Florence, Oregon while in town there on business. Didn't know how clean it was when he first told me about it but he was looking for an approximate value. Turns out it was owned by a little old lady living in an assisted living facility. Her busband bought it new in '63 and it has 80K original miles on it. He passed away awhile back and she decided she didn't need the car anymore. Engine was overhauled at 60K and the interior has been reupholstered and it's either been repainted or else maybe cosmetically "refurbished" at the least, but it's gorgeous either way...everything done was done to the nine's...
Dad picked it up for 3600, essentially so I can buy it from him...if he hadn't bought/seen it I would never have known about it! Enjoy!

Thanks... It's truly one of the nicest VWs I've ever seen. Now I've got two "fat chicks" ('68 driver and a '70 Cal Look project in the works) and one sweet '63 rag that is as purist as they come. I've got my bases covered! |

OH yeah, this one's not moving one iota from stock condition...funny thing is when my dad was bringing it home he stopped for gas and ran into some guy at the gas station who asked what year it was and if he would sell it. My dad said the guy said, "Yeah, this looks about the year I'm looking for. I wouldn't mind making a dune buggy out of it."
I could just picture some guy in a shitty old truck, missing teeth and wearing bib overalls with no shirt underneath (enter "dualing banjoes" here). Lol. |
