dunno, i'm all new to this t3 stuff......just found a squareback locally.....
all the guy has said is that its a 64/65 in sea blue with a two tone grey interior.....
just wanted to know whether its 5 stud so i can formulate my plans
5 stud would be better apparently its a 'S' model......what does that mean?
its had an upgrade on the og 1500 twin carbed engine also to 1600cc....
any advice muchly appreciated |

I belive the UK T3s all followed what Germany gave them. And in this case its 5 lug till the end of 65. As DMNCLNR so eliquently put, there is alot of pics and info on the 64-65 spec T3 whith in this site. Cruze around and you will see the color codes, interiors and neat options found on the T3. The only T3 I can think of that retained the 5 lug longer was the Australian spec T3. They kept 5 luggers till 68. Simons book is a wealth of info on these odd, against the norm offshoots "other" VW facilities did. Hope that give you a start. Look around first then plug away with the questions. There is more than one know it all here that would be more than happy to answer. Welcome to T3 ownership. _________________

If it has been converted to 1600cc, then it is no longer an "S" engine. The S engine was a high compression, twin carb engine. The lower compression 1600 engine gives about the same horsepower, so nothing lost.
Some of the trim on the car would have been "S" also. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
