Hi all, I have been looking for a turn signal switch for my 66 fasty but without much luck. So the question is since i am going to convert it to 12 volt can i use a later model switch or even switch out the steering column all together? |

Yes you can. '68-'70 would be a good choice. '71 was a year by itself, so that is not a good choice. Get the complete switch with the column, and shaft. That way, you know you have everything you will need. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Yeah, what Russ said. I used a 71 column in my 65, only later to find out it's got a one year only electrical switch thats hard to find. By the way, keep your lower tube from your 66, as you'll need to swap it onto the later column. The reason for that is the later tubes are about 6 inches too short to seal the hole for the shaft. I found this out when doing mine, and I think Tomnotch ran into the same problem with his 64. You'll need to remove the clip on the collapsable part to swap the tubes, but it'll fit just fine. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
