Since you live in so-cal and drive the freeways I would recommend the freeway flyer because if you TRY to drive 65 mph on the freeway, people will run you over for going to slow!I have a 3:83 R&P in my type 3 tranny but its also because I have a type 4 2.0L In my bug I have a 3:88 R&P and that too was a good setup. You might want just a taller 4th,but then if you want to ever put it in 4th while you are on the streets you will bog the engine around town doing 45-50 mph and the rpm will be LOW.But with my 3:83 R&P and all stock gears I cruise on the freeway at 70mph with 3000rpm's and around town I leave it in 3rd if limit is 45mph.If the area calls for 50 mph on city streets then I go 55 and put it in 4th. Its hard to chose because its not you can go and test every style and tranny ratios. But thats My personal setups and I like them. Good luck! Laughing
