LOL... Ahh, c'mon! I know there is something Cool out there too!! lol
I saw that Thing first hand last week for our monthly Cruise in there.. The paint work is Phenominal!!!! That 3-D head paintshop is rediculous good!! All their surfboards they have painted there, are amazing and the detail in their work is just fantastic!! the way custom painting should be!!!
If we have a Treffen in this area, we'll have to make Harpers a destination! lol _________________ '74 Thing, "Our Thing"....

Honestly, It a beautiful paint job. It just belongs in California or Florida, not Tenn. I see more of an Elvis tribute coming out of TN "Thing you, Thing you very much" [mouthed using very bad Elvis impersonation] _________________ Walküre Restoration Thread: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=737492 |

Just picked this one up today after sitting on this trailer backed up in some woods for 5 yrs. Was told it was driven daily and fine when put on the trailer. This has been a 3 yr process getting this guy motivated to sell and not to mention locate a good title. Pretty solid body, minimal rust on bottom doors and has a patch installed in the pan for the battery at some point. Not sure what Im going to do with it yet (keep or sell) but if I didnt grab it up I was told it was going to the scrap yard.
I would maybe be interested in buying it if your thinking of selling!

Recently having learned about the necessity of engagement photos, I was able to get a few with the Thing while I had a professional photographer on the clock.

Hello,
I put a set of Wintermark HT 205 75R 14 tires on my 181. Purchased from Flynn Tires (maybe just an Ohio chain...I don't know). They are made by Republic. Heavy lug, no rubbing issues, nice ride, reasonable price. Nice stance and one of the few aggresive tread 14 inch tires you can get without spending an arm and a leg now days.
Thank you all for the interest!
Joe |
