I just saw a thread about production codes(m-codes),but it leads you to the type2 sight and i am not understanding it  So can anybody help me on these codes

518 697
523926 A02 P31 507 517
16 3 7710 UV 2310 21

12193528 is your vin. Should be 2312193528
518 is camper with pop top. [but I am puzzled by 517 later.....]
697 is ??
523 926 is Pastell White
A02 is US specs
P31 is Westfalia SO 70/2
507 is vent wings in front doors
517 is camper without pop top ???
16 3 is the build day, 16th week [end of March] 3 [Wednesday]
7710 is ??
UV is US port ??
231021 is Kombi LHD with manual trans and 1600 engine |

Thanks for the info.The other plate says 4/71 and the vin you said.I am just trying to figure out what is original and the correct year.71 westy right  |

23 must be westy......22 is 7/9 seater and 24 is the same except deluxe.

You only gave the bottom 2 rows. What happened to the top 2 rows?
From what you did give. I can tell you that you have a 71 bus, 7 seater, built the 40th week of 1970 on a Monday. Sometime in early Sept, 1970.
It has a 1600 type 1 engine. Vent windows in the sides. Black vinyl interior. The paint is strange: 0506 is Niagra Blue lower, Black upper. It entered the USA as a USA vehicle thru the port of Wisconsin [they have one??] |
