Oh, I know the hood still needs tweaking cause the latch and adjusters aren't even in yet.

Is this a trick question?? Bullet fenders with wrong beak maybe... What year is it. Your headlight buckets look fine except you are missing all the hardware. Type 1 buckets lean WAAAAAAAAAAY back.

My thought exactly. You're probably looking at the beak, and thinking it should be flipped over. Believe it or not, you've got it the right way. Brian caught me on that with my Notch, as it's currently still upside down. But it looks better to me like that though. Very Happy

It's a late 62. I still cant figure out what it is. It seems to me the bumper looks wrong for the car. Its not only me though - just about everyone who sees it thinks something is jacked up. I dont know maybe when i get the lights and turn signals on it will look better.

definitely reserve judgement until you have all the details back on it...

and you don't have a bug style lense or a fiberglass fender that sucks, either....

Too low??? I thought that was stock height?? Laughing If its a late 62 then you shouldnt have a beak at all. Maybe thats the problem in the bumper area?? Bumper looks fine to me from here. It could be a little lower though.

Front hood embelishment did not surface till 64. The bumper is fine. Sounds like your friends are into bug or busses or something Wink

So I guess it's time to break out the welder and fix my hood.
Blankmange and notchboy - most of them are into bugs, but the one that first agreed w/me about something being wrong had a 65 notch for years.
Maybe he was confused about the side molding - who knows. Thanks again

Well before you weld anything, what is your overall intent with the car? You want it to look stock with some mods? Like being lowered. If you dont care about how "correct" the body is then I say leave the 64-65 hood be. Or get a 66-69 to weld.

Actually the beak IS upside down (I must have been drinking when I typed that above). Rolling Eyes
I think someone else mentioned asking what YOUR plans are for it, is a good point. Build it for YOU, not someone else. Shocked My case in point, I built my Notch for me to cruise, and take on road trips. That ment I wanted IRS, and dual port heads, along with a "freeway flier" trans, and I also wanted it a different color than it came in, along with cloth seats (I hate getting stuck to vinyl). I put them all together in the same package, and never looked back. Sure it won't qualify for the 1500 club, but then I'm not scared to DRIVE it out of state or to work. Twisted Evil Another case in point is my Roadster 2 project. It started out as a Squareback, but it got a hair cut (roof removed), and I didn't look back. Sure it's no beauty queen, but it's fun to DRIVE when it isn't raining. Cool It's also still under construction, so if I want to work on it, I can, if not it can collect dust. The best part is I don't have to wash, wax, and polish it. Twisted Evil Just something to think about.

Bob - I am building it for me. I want it to look as close to stock as I can get it. Having parts from other years doesn't bother me. As of now I have spent close to 3 years collecting parts for it. There will be some mods to it though. For starters a 2110, it will stay lowered, and I want to find a set of sprint stars for it. I don't plan to trailer it at all, but it will be a sweet ride when its done. Besides what's the point of having something if you never use it.
