|

Hey everyone, up here in freezing cold arctic British Columbia Canada, we have a fun thing called Air Care! Basically an opportunity for the local politicians to make an extra buck a year on tests.
Maybe down south you guys call it smog laws... I've got to take my T3 in there by Aug 5 and let some asshole rev the shit out of it until his test is done!
I already failed by one (and that was before a much needed tune up) fault so I have a hope that I may be able to pass!
Any thing I can do to help my German Pancake pass this crap! Anyone else have these problems in their Province or State?
Thanks! _________________ Fuel injection is the DEVIL!

What do ya mean? Is there a certain age of a car that they don't test anymore? _________________ Fuel injection is the DEVIL!

Anything older than 20 years doesn't need to be tested in Ontario.
That being said I *do* have a passed Air Care certificate in my bundle of paperwork from when the car lived in BC. _________________ Ice Blue '67 Squareback |

Could be but not in this area! Although that makes a lot of sense to me! I think the only way to dodge it here is to get collector plates but thats a route that won't work because of the plans for the car and the (mods). Hmmm... Ontario it's 20 years hey? Interesting!! _________________ Fuel injection is the DEVIL!

Hey dont you guys have two different collector plates. Here in Nova Scotia I run antique plates on all my old stuff (cars anyway) No need for any kind of inspection and plates are only 25 dollars a year. Only stipulation is you just drive it to and from car shows and sunny days. Which to me means 5 months of the year anyway. |

Just sell it to me, and I will title it in Iowa. No smog rule/aircare crap, and my most expensive AC VW is only $16 year registration. Most of mine are only $10. Drive them whenever you want. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Here in Tennessee I believe anything before 1971 is exempt. _________________ 69 Fastback Automatic |

Why is this so difficult in BC? Not only that but only Vancouver has the law! My old town I lived in where I bought it didn't have this bullshit! Hmmm... Nova Scotia has Antique plates hey? I'll have to look into that, I only drive it on sunny days (fears of rust coming back [ya I'm paranoid with this VW]), and I don't insure it after September unless there is good weather and a reason! Well at this point I guess I'll just get some air care pass in a bottle and drive it on the highway for a while before I take it in and also give it a little tune up as well. Russ instead of you buying it I'm moving down that way wuhhoo! Later guys! (time to try to get some blasted work done) _________________ Fuel injection is the DEVIL!
