hey Now...Thats me! |
me too... I'll take a $5 hat vs wearing sunscreen or skin cancer any day.
I thought this thread was about buses... not the people walking around a show. |

Any thing hippie; piece signs, flowers, furthur, tie-dyed curtains......
Camper interior in a double door
Deluxe trim on a panel, SC or DC
Outlandish colors like orange, purple, or lime green
Empi 5-spokes, especially painted the same outlandish color of the bottom section
Skylight windows on a SC or DC
But what I really can't stand is when you're at a show and there's a nice bus but the owner "decorated" it with Spongebob square pants in the drivers seat, and a bunch of other dumb looking stuffed animals flanked by yellow toy beetles and red and white toy buses of various sizes. propped up right next to it is one of those VW PARKING ONLY signs. |

My thoughts exactly Crofty.. Now how did I miss this one!

This is what Westy heaven looks like. They get to spend the rest of their lives on the front lawn of a beautiful house and soak in the sun. |
I helped install scoops on a SC on the way back from this show. The truck was running hot so when we stopped for lunch I joked that it would run cooler with scoops, and he could go to the store next door and buy a Martha Stewart baking pan. Damned if it didn't end up with lasagna trays stuck to the sides.
Evidently it ran 10* cooler
I hate non period correct accessories, like an 80s era cooler next to a 50s camper.
Wait, no, I'm okay with that. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

It bugs me when the westy tent poles aren't adjusted properly and the tent is taller at one end than the other, or the fabric is dragging on the ground.
or sagging down:
this one on the smurfy blue bus looks nice:
it also bugs me when the tent isn't folded up properly
Sloppy, this will be all wrinkly when set up.
It also doesn't fit easily in the tent bag:
nice This will be smooth with crisp fold lines when set up:

Highly advanced tech. You know, Ferrari 458 also uses flexible aerofoils to manage airflow. |

I figure the worst thing anybody could ever do to a splitty is SELL IT! anything else goes, I like em all...................well ok maybe not that PINTO engine conversion thing but most everything else!
I mean the only reason its ok for me to drive a Vanagon is because I know I have a 62split at home!

I was part of a Beetle-Stuff once. I got major claustrophobia and panic and someone farted bigtime: not fun (for me). |

Bird crap. That really ruins my day. Sunvisors apparently make handy bird perches, so be careful when you reach up there...
