The fuel pump on my 1970 FI squareback quit on me, it won't kick on at all. Im trying to find a replacement but am coming up short. The only ones ive been able to find so far are almost 400$ Ive checked ebay and the classifieds here, i was wondering if anyone knows where I can find one for significantly less than that. |

I am using a 1985 Ford Ranger pickup pump in my '71. Took a little re-engineering the mount, and rerouting some fuel lines, but it has lasted for 3 years, and only cost me $20 used.
BTW, are you sure it is the pump?? Have you tried hot wiring it??
When you turn the key on, do you here 2 relays click, about 2 seconds apart?? The pump should run between those 2 clicks.
If you don't here the clicks, then the FI relay is not coming in or the computer has no power. Check the wire coming off the battery to the FI power relay under the rear seat. _________________ Society is like stew. yeah, we checked all the power stuff as i thought that might be the problem since I just replaced the voltage regulator but we've got power to and from everything the pump just isnt kicking on. It's the original so it's 35 years old and it spend 34 of those years in milwaukee so the pump looks like it's in pretty rough shape anyway. |

Make sure that you also have a proper ground before you condemn the pump. Oftentimes this is overlooked. You need BOTH power AND ground to make things work. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

keep an eye on the classifieds for people selling fuel pumps - also eBay; I bought a brand new one for $100.00 from the classifieds... _________________ póg mo thóin
