1500's were single port. An upgrade would be dual port. You just have to find the heads, and the intake manifolds. Your carbs will switch right over.
Early 1500's had smaller valves. If yours are the earlies, switch it to the single ports with the larger valves.
While you have the heads off, think about switching it from 83mm 1500cc pistons, to 85.5mm 1600cc pistons. It is a straight across swap.

| Hi - if you're interested, I have NOS 1500 dome-top pistons/cylinders and set of early Type 3 single-port heads (that would have to be rebuilt)... |
