Yeah, yeah. A little bit of self promo, but maybe some do care. Im on the road again for another move. Yep you got it. Over the last couple of months the personal life has been realy f%cking loopy with a divorce and kids. So my efforts have been to situate that and get on with life. Which is what brought me to Seattle for good, so I thought, and now to San Antonio.
I am glad I did have the opotunity to meet all the great folks along the way to the PNW and wont forget you.
So hows the scene in San Antonio? Ive seen a few VWs on the roads but no T3s. I did drive by Volksmiths, hes got a ton of AC crap! Nice finds waiting there Im sure. Who is all out there and whats the show action like?
Oh and I do hope and plan for this to be my last move for years to come. I bought a nice big house! _________________

So, are you there, or just visiting while you buy a house?
When you make the move final, swing through Iowa, and I will put you up for the night. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Houston and DFW have pretty good VW crowds. Not too sure about San Antonio. You'll love the weather. Yesterday hit 100 and it's been hovering around 99 the last week or so. Welcome to Texas! _________________ member of: Fort Worth Aircoolers Gang |

Keep the faith Tram, Im just spreading out our influence I would still hope to get that beer at the invasion. Its my shotgun blast to reality with the side note of being able to (so far) keep my perversion to VWs. _________________

Jason, Seattle's loss is San Antonio's gain. It was a pleasure to meet you at Vintage weekend Burger meet. Have a safe journey on your next path. I can't believe you would leave the PNW for TEXASS. No offense meant to anyone from Texas.

Hey Jason you asked about the vw scene in San Antonio ?
It's better than I think your expecting.........and getting better every day. There are two vw groups in SA, there is a the "Volkswagen Owners of San Antonio club" and there is the San Antonio Aircoolers Gang.
one is a club with dues and occassional meetings........kinda older crowd and no type 3's that I know of.
The other, the Aircoolers is a "gang" (no membership fee, no president, no car criteria, etc....)
The San Antonio Air coolers are about 40 to 50 strong and meet every second saturday for "shop nite" and every third Friday for some beer and burgers and a cruise through downtown SA right in front of the Alamo. The cars range from Supers to Ovals........and from projects to pristine.
The last show I attended here was about 100 cars or so and there was only 4 type 3's.......a 70ish fasty, a 72 square project, and my two notches
so the type 3 scene is real weak and I'm glad to hear your coming.
I'll PM ya my number.............buy you a beer, and introduce you to the guys

Holy shit, Jason...good luck in the move. Sounds like you may have found a place to put down some roots....I know the feeling as far as dealing with life's detours. If I ever get on down to So Cal with the new Notch I'll be sure to look out for you...One good thing...I bet your money went farther in the Texas real estate market than it would have here. _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...

Man. Moving sucks. I moved 3x in one year. 3 different houses too. I'm never moving again.
Good luck. Maybe you can "Summer" in the PNW?
BTW, isn't "Big Al" from Texas? - maybe Houston - he was a Type 3 guy, kinda lost track of him tho. He had one of the first Type 3 specific web sites that I've ever visited. _________________ Phillip Bradfield

Holy crap, Texas? No thank you!!!
Well, good luck. Yeah, "Big Al" was in that area but he dropped off the radar. He's a graphic artist and has a great sense of humor, hopefully he's still around and just too busy to chat _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/
