Hell ya My kinda post bro! Keep it real. I rolled my patina notch till the dam wheels and doors fell off Then I cranked my stolen stero so loud the 6x9s poped the windows out. That was cool though as it was the og rotten rubber the factory put in. Now all I need is a motor(burnt it up from haulin ass) and a front beam(bent the shit out of mine on speed bumps).

I guess "patina" is OK, if you're trying to preserve the originality of a vehicle, including the paint. What I hate is that people use "patina" as an excuse to not repair, maintain, or even wash their vehicle.
As far as fake patina, why would you want to intentionally make your car look like shit? Unless of course it looks like shit to begin with, then that's alright I guess. _________________ OGST

Yeah I went to hoodride.com and there was only that one slammed Squareback. I wish they had more. To be honest, most of the squares I see here on these forums are painted and done up for show, or at least they are on their way.
Actually, when I was on lunch the other day I went over to Albertsons to get some cup-o-noodles ( I am poor! ) On my way back to work as I was walking through the parking lot I kinda wasn't watching where I was going and I literally bumped into a car, it was an all OG Squareback, early model! All OG, paint and everything. It looked like it's owner was like some old professor or some old lady, wasn't modified or anything, but nonetheless I was taken by suprise. I wish I coulda taken a picture, you would have appreciated it.
Peace, Justin |

UltraVW has just featured that 62 panel/ex T3D car. acording to the article he replaced and painted to match a rear fender and rear window panels. They went as far as squirting pepsi on it to give it a more weathered look. 5 lug gassers to boot full of weathery build up. Topping and riding in that rare beast has to be the top bar to shoot for in a rat ride square. Comparative to the split window above I supose. _________________

Now, I'm all for original paint and patina, but the above gets about as much respect from me as pre-faded, pre-ripped jeans. |
