|
|
I have the last year been collecting parts for the reconstruction of a 1943 KDF wagen.
Francisco and Ed at Kaefer has provided me excellent service when asking questions. All packages has been sent without any delay. And when parts are not in stock I have been properly informed via mail.
The quality of the items received looks very good to me. The conclusion will without any doubt be: A1 company in all aspects, and highly recommended !
Regards
Anders from Norway. |

I received my parts after a fairly long wait, and communication was sometimes lacking, but the parts look great. I would most likely do business with him again. _________________ Vintage Classic Specialist, Orange, CA

I had an ongoing problem with a window regulator I bought from Francisco. Even a year later he took care of it for me.
Thanks again! |

I ordered a pair of repro '54 style egg tail-light lenses from the (nice!) K-N website last February. There were long delays, and eventually it came out that the manufacturing process was encountering problems which prevented shipping of a quality product. No problem I said; luckily there was no great urgency for me, and I could afford to wait for quality.
Communication was pretty good. The lenses were eventually shipped late Aug or early Sept. One was perfect, but the other had a large number of significant air bubbles trapped in the plastic, which made it look weird when lit up. I sent back some close-up pictures of these flaws, asking for an opinion. It was indeed the signature of the manufacturing problem encountered, the difficulties were to the point that these lenses will likely be discontinued as a product. I was offered a refund on a return, or a discount on a subsequent order. I chose the latter and was happy with the second order.
Having read other feedback here, I have come to the conclusion that what I experienced was abnormal. Thanks Francisco, for making it right in the end.

Sent my original semaphore out to him, and was told his restorer was going to do them and that it would take about four weeks weeks. It's almost been two months now and no word about them. My painter is getting ready to begin painting my 55 and I really need them yesterday. Now I'm just getting responses about being show season. Wtf. |

I have been dealing with this guy for some parts I ordered almost a year ago, I had talked to him at the end of Mar, I told him I would call after the 10 of April, now I can not contact him to find out about my parts, he does not E-mail me back when I write, does anyone have contact with him as of late, I would hate to feel I am being riped off but I feel that may be the case.
If he is for real, he shows a lack of it as far as running his shop, if you sale something sale it, but do not sale what you do not have, I have waited over the time it should take to get a part, I have asked before to just get my money back, but each time he states he wants to have me wait, how long should you before it is too long. |

I ordered a pair of window channels for my split that were advertised on TheSamba, which I think reasonably led me to believe they were in stock. In the same order, I bought some fairly common front bearing seals and retaining washers. That was back in February. Multiple emails went unanswered. Two phone calls were answered, but I was told he'd call me back (he didn't).
On April 22nd, I finally received a reply and was told that the window channels were in South America, but would be shipped to Louisiana by "hopefully" next week. I asked that he go ahead and ship the front wheel parts and sent him the SKU numbers. There has been no reply since that date and no parts have been received.
I've been through this with them before, and was hesitant to order anything else, but couldn't find the window channels anywhere else. The frustrating thing is that payment is required up front, so they've been sitting on my money this whole time. I've read in this forum that he travels a lot, and that's fine, but with the prices charged, he could hire someone to deal with the incoming orders.
My feeling is that if something is advertised on this site and payment is sent, then the item needs to be delivered in a reasonable amount of time....3 months is not reasonable.
I'll report back when (if) the items are received. |

I got the same response in April 2013 about it being "Show Season". Apparently show season lasts 6 months and nothing else takes place during that time. Interesting way to run a business. |

First, I'm not interested in knowing what positives others have experienced in doing business with Kaefer-Nostalgie. Purchasing from Francisco has been nothing less than insulting and I'm just short of calling him a fraud.
I bought a pair of Francisco's home-made dual-filament Zwitter tail light bulb holders and they were junk and in pieces when I opened the box. I sent them back for a refund and Francisco apparently is refusing to refund my $175 or communicate at all.
Francisco. I've had enough shit out of you, sir, and you need to refund my money immediately. I have no patience or tolerance for the likes of you at this point and it's unfortunate that you have pissed me off and pushed me to the point of having to post negative feedback for you in this forum. You need to pay me back $175 and you've had your crappy bulb holders back in your possession for weeks.
I will come to Louisiana and deal with you directly if you would like. I'm being extremely restrained in dealing with you, sir, and it would be very logical and wise to refund my money in full and not cross me any further.
This guy is misunderstanding that I'll deal with him legally and I'm certainly not attempting to scare him in the least. Francisco just responded with the email below. He's apparently not in Louisiana, but in Brazil and seems rather out of control. I don't care how tough he is, I just want my money back for the defective bulb-holders that I received and returned, period.

LOL, you don't scare me. You can come over, only that you will have to come to Brazil in order to meet this.
We are all tough guys behind a computer, get over it.
I will send you your shitty money back, even if it was sent after the period we request. But, we have some handling times. And you will need to deal with that as well.
Just don't bother me any further please, I have serious customers I need to take care of.
Francisco
Handling times for a refund? Four weeks and I recall paying for the items via PayPal and this man has refused to use PayPal for a refund. It's no wonder since he is actually in Brazil and not in Louisiana. Who is Ed Krump? Is he a real person and in Louisiana?
If I had known the bulb holders were home-made in Brazil and then sent to someone in Louisiana and repackaged with Ed Krump's name and a Louisiana address on the box, and that's what I was purchasing, I would not have thought twice about NOT purchasing the items.
I gathered that I was buying items that were carefully and properly manufactured by a hardcore vintage VW guy named Ed Krump, owner of Kaefer Nostalgie in Alexandria, Louisiana. I must have been mistaken... |

Ordered a clock grill and gauge holder for my '57. Grill had a small defect, but Francisco was great about sending me a replacement. Really happy with how I was treated and the end result. Would have no problem ordering from him again.....Dale. |
