Welcome to TheSamba Gerry, nice find

Besides the EMPI serial number which is the gold standard of proof that you have a genuine factory built EMPI Sportster, you also have the original folding windshield frame knobs.

Do you have the 61 gas tank that doesn't have the hole for the quantity sender? Its something else they used on the factory built Sportster.

I have just purchased an Empi sportster 4 passenger model, it has a 1957 front axle and a 1953 buss transmission. I plan to build me an engine and put her together. I feel it a real pleasure to own it.

Working on my Corsair Stripper buggy......yes

Got my fairly stock 1641 DP rebuilt.

Got a new exhaust installed.

Getting my new rear disc brakes and new axle/CV joints installed.

Working from the back of the car forward.

Lots of little stuff too.

No I picked up another 67 bug so I've been playing with it. I plan to get back to it soon.
