What is this vent/grill for? I have only seen pictures of them, but don’t know what they are for.

'69 for sure. It depended on when the dealers/warehouse inventory ran out.

It may have been '68 as well.

I know it wasn't '66 because the condensors were mounted under the engine instead Exclamation

Actually, I believe it was '67 on. Has anyone ever seen a 6v automotive air conditioner? If so, I want one!
